Indepence day of India

Welcome to the 4Visions' blog. My name is Parul Bhatia and I am the the contact person for this blog. This blog is not just for me. It is for me, you, and everyone interested in sharing their opinions about topics that matter. Lets kick off this blog with India's Independence Day. Today is August 15th 2006. Inida attained its freedom in August of 1947. It has been 59 years!! We have come a long way. From being this rich golden bird that rest of the world adored a few centuries ago to an upcoming democracy that has a promising potential for the East as well as the West. Have we arrived full circle? Well we may not be a golden bird today but we certainly have a promise to offer to other Indians. And this promise has strong shades of gold in it. We are the fastest growing economy today .. yet the poverty lurks strongly through the slums, the pollution, the evergrowing poplulation!! We are a nation of IT programmers and architects yet the hospitals are underequpped in their programs to take care of the poor. We are a capitalist society where the spirit to succeed makes us rise again and again despite the bomb blasts that killed so many Mumbai-ites on 7/11/06. This spirit to rise and go on with one's business is something that makes us true Indians and nothing can dampen this spirit.
